Berenice Bejo Wears Maidenform at the Golden Globes

Berenice Bejo has a starring role in the recent Golden Globe winner and Academy Award-nominated movie "The Artist."  But, what many may not know is that under her flawless gown at the Golden Globes she was wearing a Maidenform strapless bra.

 

To be more specific, it was the Maidenform Custom Lift Strapless bra style 9455. I think this was a great choice.  This strapless bra has a rather unique feature. Its padding in the bottom of the cups is sized differently for each cup size. So, the amount of padding in an A cup is more than the padding in the B, C, or D cups – the padding decreases as the cup sizes increase.  This unique construction of the strapless bra means it stays up and will not look unnatural on you.

 

Berenice looked fabulous and so can you!

London! France! Jake Gyllenhaal’s Underpants!

jake gylenhallBoxers or briefs?  Well, we all know now;  Jake Gyllenhaal is definitely a briefs man. And we know this because of a picture that surfaced recently with him in a very specific and popular pose.

It all started when Kanye West posted a photo of his girlfriend, Amber Rose, in the iconic pose made famous by Grace Jones on the cover of her  ‘Island Life’ album.  This photo then set off a firestorm of interpreters in all shapes and sizes contorting into the same pose and posting themselves on Twitter.

So, which tightie whities is Jake wearing?  According to my men’s buyer, Jake is sporting a pair of Polo Ralph Lauren Stretch Cotton Jersey Briefs PO82.  As for those socks that seem to match the carpet…  We’re looking the other way.

Breasts at the Oscars

Okay, I can’t help it.  I watch these shows and my eyes always go to the starlet’s chest to see the bust/bra situation– Did she wear a bra?  Did she need a bra?  or, What did they do up there?   As I observed, there were definitely some winners and losers.
 
One theme I saw was the strapless dress that came up high enough so that seeing cleavage was not an issue.  Personally, I think this is a terrific look.  It is so elegant and classy.  It allows you to stand back and take in the entire look, rather than instantly honing in on their great (and many times not so great) cleavage.  Examples of this were Nicole Kidman, Hillary Swank  and Reese Witherspoon.

Strapless dresses can be a big miss when they make the breasts look unnatural or strange.  This usually happens because instead of a strapless bra, the starlet has opted for duct tape or some other bizarre underpinning in an effort to get her cleavage where she wants it.  A perfect example of this last night would be Giuliana Rancic who tried pushing up what she has very little of.  And, it looks like she even tried putting make-up on her cleavage to accentuate it.

 
Mila Kunis looked beautiful last night in a soft and feminine lavender gown, and being young, she was able to go braless (which the gown required).  And, kudos to her on behalf of all the less-than-endowed women for not trying to fake her breast size.  That said, I still would have liked to have seen her neckline hiked up just a little more.

Finally, here are my two worst examples of cleavage last night.  And, it’s really a shame because both had on beautiful dresses.  If proper cups had been sewn into their gowns, their looks could have been a home run. Matthew McConaughey’s girlfriend, Camila Alves could have used some lift. And Jennifer Hudson…. girl, what was going on under that dress?
