Knee Socks & Thigh Socks – The New Look For Boots

December 05, 2011

hue hosieryI don’t need any more boots.  Over the last couple of years, i think I have collected every style – booties, thigh boots, motorcycle boots and on and on.  But, I confess to wanting all of them to look more current and modern.  Well, I found my answer – wear them with socks.

It took me a while this fall to figure out how all of this works, but now that I have, I want to share it with you.  The great new look is taking your skinny jeans, putting a pair of long socks OVER your jeans, then putting on a pair of tall boots while making sure the tops of your socks are higher than the boots.  It’s really a smart look. My favorites are the Hue Over the Knee Sock 12417 and Over the Knee Bootliner Socks 6491.

For my shorter boots, I have found taller socks and then rolled the top down over the top of the boot to give them a kind of a knit collar.  My absolute favorite socks for doing this are the Hue Luster Furry Socks 12329.  They are super soft and fluffy looking. Our images are not really accurate because the sock comes up at least an inch higher than we are showing.  Though they look thick, they smoosh down and are not bulky.  I don’t feel like I have a really thick sock inside my boots.  I have every color, but find I use the red a lot.  Great fun look.  I also use these socks with my clogs.

Want a new look for all your boots?  The simple solution is to have a great collection of socks.

I’m In Love With Hue Skinny Jeanz!

June 29, 2010

hue skinny jeanzYou know when you find something fantastic, you want to tell everyone you know?  Well, that’s how I feel about Hue’s collection of skinny jeanz.

I’ve shelled out lots of money for the ‘in’  jeans of the season.  But, the moment I put these on, I was in love – and they’re only $30.

First, they are as comfortable as wearing leggings.  Those designer jeans may look great, but they are rarely really comfortable.  Then, I really like the fabric.  It’s thick enough so they don’t look like leggings, and they don’t show any VPL’s.  The back pockets are sewn on and actually work, and the length is long enough so there is some gathering around the ankle.

Hue makes two styles – the Jeanz Capri legging and the Skinny Jeanz legging.  I love both.  In fact, truth be told, I bought every color in every style.  I wear a size 4 pant.  The size small in both styles was perfect.  My two daughters, ages 12 and 14 could both fit in the extra small.

The best part is that when I wear them, I get stopped and told how terrific my jeans look.  Perfect strangers have stopped me and asked me what brand I’m wearing.  When they find out they’re actually a legging, they can’t believe it.  And again, they’re only $30.

Consider this my gift to you.  Run and get a pair.  I guarantee you will be back for more.
